About the Position

Project Engineer 1 is a starting position where we expect to begin the process of training the
successful candidate to be able to accomplish these required tasks.
A Project Engineers primary job is to take our advanced control system applications and
implement them in a way that provides the proper control strategy that meets the customer’s
needs. These tasks include understanding the process that is being controlled and properly
implementing our algorithms to successfully create a complete system to be built and
commissioned in the plant.

To achieve these goals the project engineer will have to work in a team to gather the project
requirements, design the solution, document that design. Then proceed to assist with building
and configuring the software to accomplish it. Additionally, the project engineer will assist with
testing the final product.

While doing this, you are responsible for compliance to industry-accepted standards,
department and project specifications. A Project Engineer may also provide support for the
Sales Department, in such activities as field surveys; project cost estimating and project quoting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful completion of assigned engineering projects. 

  • Sustain regular contact with assigned project clients ensuring effective engineering and client communications.

  • Participate in client/contractor meetings and work toward resolving client and project engineering issues.

  • Work with and support Sales Dept., estimating project costs, developing quotes, determining project requirements, and field surveys. 

  • Travel as needed to project site for customer acceptance testing and/or basic precommissioning tasks. 

  • Read and develop P&ID’s, Instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel layout drawings. 

  • Produce engineering documentation using Microsoft Office, AutoCad Electrical and TK software products

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years engineering experience in a related field

Desired Skills

  • Desire to learn basic control system concepts and to apply them to advanced process control systems.

  • Any of these would be a substantial plus: Familiarity with various PLC and DCS equipment. Including Siemens, ABB, Emerson Delta V, Honeywell, Rockwell or any other industrial control system. 

  • Programming and configuring RSLogix5000, and FactoryTalk View software, TK Solver, SolidWorks, MATLAB, C/C++ Programming, Autodesk’s AutoCAD Electrical. 

  • Some basic understand of P&ID drawings or other technical abilities related to control systems.

  • Self-starter who can work individually or as a part of a team to achieve success
