About the Position

Complete the final phase of project delivery by providing on-site testing and startup for purchased control systems. Troubleshoot and solve performance issues and problems on both new and existing systems. In addition to assigned project work, a Field Engineer provides documentation and feedback to the Engineering and Sales Departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful completion of assigned engineering projects.

  • Participate in client/contractor meetings and work toward resolving client and project engineering issues.

  • Sustain good communication with project clients ensuring effective engineering and satisfaction of client goals.

  • Read P&ID’s, Instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams and panel layout drawings. 

  • Travel to project site for field commissioning and troubleshooting of complex systems on PLC equipment.

  • Commission field devices, test compressors and turbines, configure and tune programmable controllers, provide system testing. 

  • Edit programmable logic as required.

  • Position is responsible for compliance to ECT and industry-accepted standards, and project specifications.

Requirements

  • B.S. Engineering or 6 years engineering experience.

  • Ability and desire to travel internationally, including offshore platforms and remote locations.

Desired Skills

  • Programming and configuring RSLogix5000, and FactoryTalk View software, TK Solver, SolidWorks, MATLAB, C/C++ Programming, Autodesk’s AutoCAD Electrical. 

  • Familiarity with various PLC and DCS equipment. Including Siemens, ABB, Emerson Delta V, Honeywell, Rockwell or any other industrial control system. 

  • Ability to configure and tune control loops. 

  • Experience with field devices, transmitters, calibration techniques and strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Self-starter who can work individually or as a part of a team to achieve success. 

  • Ability to work legally in the United States.
