About the Position
The Senior Field Engineer will travel to customer sites for field engineering, site surveys, and technical sales support.
Key Responsibilities
Travels to customer sites for field engineering, site surveys, and technical sales support.
Performs acceptance tests, IO loops commissioning, IO installation reviews, valve stroke tests, piping review, system powerup and checkout, C&E testing, commissioning of auxiliary equipment, compressor surge testing, steam turbine governor commissioning, control loop tuning, and writing field service reports.
Prepares training material and delivers informal training and site-specific training courses.
Configures and programs PLC, DCS, and HMI hardware. Tests control systems prior to shipment.
Conducts FATs (Factory Acceptance Test) and SATs (Site Acceptance Test) both remotely from office as well as in-person at customer sites.
Prepares project documentation that may comprise control narratives, logic diagrams, cause & effect diagrams, CSDs, IO lists, communication tag lists, alarm lists, FAT and SAT procedures.
Reviews and revises cabinet layouts, wiring schematics, power distribution schematics.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
8 years of experience as a Senior Field Engineer, Field Engineer, Instrument Engineer, or similar duties under a different job title.
8 years of experience with: plant automation and control systems within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer industry; configuring and programming PLC, DCS, and HMI hardware; Turbomachinery Control Systems including anti surge, performance, and load sharing control.
5 years of experience installing, configuring, calibrating and testing field instrumentation like transmitters, switches, vibration monitoring equipment, control valves and hydraulic actuators for steam turbines.
Willingness to travel up to 50% internationally.
